Munich, November 11th, 2021, Sky Deutschland and Vodafone tested a 5G innovation during the Bundesliga game Leipzig vs. Dortmund delivering five additional camera angles to smartphones via the SML app.
The delay-free live Internet broadcasts on the Sky 5G Multiview App makes use of 5G frequencies.
The SML app allows Sky subscribers in the stadium to never miss any action again and watch the kind of replays they would be able to see if they were watching on television at home in a so called “Highlight” channel summarising the most important actions of the game in a 5-10 min looping video clip. Furthermore, users are able to make instant replays on any camera angle in order to watch the last few minutes of the game to replay a specific action of interest.
Smart Mobile Labs Edge Video Orchestrator (EVO) technology ensures that multiple video streams from any source are delivered with as little as 1 millisecond latency allowing video streams to be delivered in real-time.
