Welcome to the Real Real-Time

The system which enables agriculture machine manufacturers to offer fast and customer-oriented on-site services.

RESOURCE-ADAPTIVE MOBILE ASSISTANCE SYSTEM FOR AGRICULTURE MACHINES (INVIA)

In numerous industrial applications, on-site reparations and customer-oriented maintenance services play an important role. Reliable and fast services are especially crucial for the agriculture industry, as their executions are dependent on several constraints, such as weather conditions or outdoor mobile coverage in rural areas.

Since May 2017, Smart Mobile Labs has been involved in the realization of the project INVIA – Resource adaptive mobile assistance system for agriculture machines. The project receives public funding from the Bavarian Research Foundation. Our partners in this project are Fraunhofer ESK, InMach GmbH, Horsch GmbH, Holmer GmbH, Weptun GmbH, Bavarian State Research Center for Agriculture.

The project goal is to design an innovative, could-based mobile assistance system which will be used for diagnosing and servicing different types of agriculture machines. The system will be implemented and tested in a prototype environment.

One of the planned tests was performed in early autumn 2018. Tested and demonstrated were system features developed in the first phase of the project. They were deployed in some real-life scenarios covering assisted diagnostics and assisted service. Test results and experiences build a basis for further research and development.

In the scope of the project, Smart Mobile Labs is responsible for Mobile Edge Computing and integration of the Edge Video Orchestrator (EVO).  For the testing purposes, Smart Mobile Labs also provides network, server and transmission infrastructure with the mobile transmission station.

Next tests round is planned in spring 2019.
